Job Summary: The Public Safety Officer will ensure a safe environment for students, employees, visitors, patients, and property, serving as the first responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.

• Perform routine safety and emergency security activities.
• Act as first responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.
• Safely de-escalate critical events and employ sound judgment when engaging with combative or escalating subjects.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years of experience in general security, military, or other public safety.
• Valid driver's license and adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
• Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) required within one year of hire.
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification preferred.
• Capability to carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton.
• Pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Maintain all training requirements, including certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed.
