Responsibilities
  • Comply with local, state, and federal regulations and report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
  • Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations and programs, identifying unsafe conditions and notifying store management.
  • Understand and perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
  • Follow company guidelines on computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of medications, devices, supplements, and supplies.
  • Maintain departmental standards, keeping workstations and customer waiting areas clean and organized.
  • Count, measure, and prepare specified products using company best practices.
  • Complete billing procedures to ensure best value for customer and company.
  • Answer phone calls, triage inquiries, and provide appropriate assistance.
  • Adhere to guidelines on accepting and tendering vendor coupons, cash shortages, and company shrink guidelines.
  • Operate the cash register, following cashier handling policies to prevent loss and process electronic fund transactions, including credit/debit cards, EBT, gift cards, cash, and checks.
  • Provide a stellar customer experience while accurately and efficiently completing reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing.
  • Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities that do not require a pharmacist’s professional judgment.
  • Understand and adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding patient information.
  • Support company health and wellness initiatives.
  • Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications Minimum
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Meet minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.
Desired
  • Any previous comparable experience.
  • Any equivalent experience of a pharmacy clerk.
  • EPRN familiarity.
