Job SummaryConduct research on Alzheimer’s disease, neuropsychiatric disorders, and the microbiome using transgenic mouse models in the Seo laboratory. Perform drug treatments, behavioral tests, stereotactic surgery, and complex chemical, biological, cytologic, microscopic, histologic, surgical, statistical/computational, and dissection procedures. Prepare samples for histology and molecular analysis. Manage transgenic mouse colony and small animal surgical/behavioral procedures. Develop hypotheses and protocols, improve experimental pipelines, and contribute to manuscript and grant preparation.
Responsibilities- Conduct research on Alzheimer’s disease, neuropsychiatric disorders, and the microbiome using transgenic mouse models.
- Perform drug treatments and behavioral tests on mice.
- Collect mouse specimens (brain and peripheral organs) following standardized protocols.
- Carry out stereotactic surgery and other complex procedures.
- Perform primary cell culture, histology, and imaging of mouse nervous system tissue.
- Manage transgenic mouse colony and conduct small animal surgical and behavioral procedures.
- Identify and implement experimental and analytical pipeline improvements.
- Prepare and submit research papers, contribute to manuscript and grant preparation.
- Mentor junior lab members and promote collaborative lab culture.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or related natural/life/health sciences.
Minimum of two years of applicable experience in research, basic science, or a clinical setting, particularly clinical trials research.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong multitasking, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle research animals responsibly.
Shift: Days;
Monday–Friday.
Pay Band: B6. Salary commensurate with qualifications within established range.
