This is a temporary job working for 6 months. No per diem will be paid.

Security Officer

The Security Officer will protect people, property, and company assets by monitoring premises, investigating suspicious activity, and responding to alarms. Responsible for patrolling assigned areas, controlling access, and reporting any incidents.

• MUST be Emergency Medical Technician Basic certified
• Provide Safety patrols of the plant perimeter to include buildings, fence lines and parking lots
• Monitor the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras and report suspicious activities to the Security Supervisor and/or SHE Manager.
• Complete search of personnel and/or vehicles entering and exiting the facility.
• Administration of the Visitor Orientation Safety Training program.
• Administration of the Contractor Safety Training program.
• Provide basic first aid to plant personnel as requested.
• Provide drug and alcohol screening as requested.
• Provide routine periodic testing of all Emergency Response Notification systems.
• Activation of the SAFER system in the event of an emergency.
• Activation of the Rapid Reach Telephone system in the event of an emergency.
• Activation of the Whelen Siren System in the event of an emergency.
• Activation of the River Road Emergency Radio system in the event of an emergency.
• Activation of the Richmond County Board of Education notification system in the event of an emergency.
• Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team supporting the Emergency Operations Center activities.
• Be a role model by following and enforcing safety guidelines.
• Report unsafe acts or conditions.
• On-call 24 hours / day for SHE Department needs during an emergency.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime as departmental needs dictate.

• Must be able to sit, squat, kneel for extended period of time
• Must be able to reach in front and overhead
• Must be able to stand and/or walk on hard, uneven surfaces
• Must be able to bend and twist
• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs up to 50 feet
• Must be able to lift/carry heavy objects (up to 50 feet)
• Must be able to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) without restrictions. PPE consists of safety equipment including steel-toe shoes, hard hats, safety glasses, earplugs, etc.
• Must be able to hear effectively
• Visually distinguish colors
• Think and respond properly and quickly
• Work under stressful conditions
• Work in all weather conditions to include but not limited to extreme heat, freezing temperature, high winds and rain
• Must comply with company alcohol and drug policies
• Other duties as assigned

Education : no minimum education requirements.

Experience
: 3-5 years of experience in an industrial setting preferred. Must have basic EMT certification.
