Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Augusta, GA is seeking a Veterinarian Hospitalist to join our state-of-the-art emergency and specialty hospital. As an ER Veterinarian Hospitalist at Blue Pearl Augusta, you will work alongside an internal medicine specialist, cardiologist, oncologist, and surgeon, to ensure the highest standard of medical excellence for pets and the community.

As a Veterinarian Hospitalist You Will

• Diagnose and treat animals with illnesses and injuries.
• Evaluates patient status, make timely treatment and diagnostic plans/orders, administer medications, interpret diagnostic test results, communicate effectively with the pet owner/client and primary care veterinarian, and collaborate on patient care with other veterinarians within the practice.
• Dress animal wounds and treats animals with fractures.
• Write prescriptions for sick animals.
• Complete appropriate documentation and request referrals from other specialists as needed.
• Serve as a hospital leader in setting a pleasant, engaging, and professional work environment.

• We are an emergency and specialty facility that recently relocated to newly constructed,12,000-square-foot building - Phase I of a 20,000-square-foot expansion project.
• Our hospital includes 11 exam rooms and 4 surgical suites.
• We offer CT, digital radiology, C-Arm fluoroscopy, ultrasound, flexible endoscopy, Snyder oxygen cage, multi-parameter monitors, comprehensive Idexx labs, iStat, and an expansive pharmacy.
• We carry blood products and have on-call whole blood donors available when needed.
• Specialties services include Surgery, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, and Oncology.

• Augusta, GA is home to the Masters Golf Tournament.
• We have mountains 2 hours north and beaches 2-3 hours east.
• There are numerous state parks and the largest man-made lake East of the Mississippi feeding the Savannah River where world-class fishing tournaments are held.
• Lots of summer activities abound with campgrounds scattered along the coast line that includes both South Carolina and Georgia.
• The area is appealing to runners, bikers and kayakers.
• We have our own minor league baseball team, the Augusta Green Jackets, playing in a brand-new state-of-the-art stadium.
• There is abundant culture in the form of theatre, award-winning restaurants and local dives.
• Many venues host various performing artists throughout the year.
• For equine enthusiasts, there is trail riding, local fox hunting, the annual Augusta Futurity Cutting Horse Show and nearby Aiken, SC holds many hunter/jumper events, polo matches, and steeplechase races.

• DVM/VMD degree required.
• Completion of a rotating internship or residency in emergency and critical care preferred but not required.
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in this state.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, with the ability to make rapid and accurate assessments in emergency situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate bedside manner.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
