Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position specializing in renal med/surg, with Epic proficiency required and first-time travelers welcome.

• Hospital-based Medical/Surgical unit with a renal med/surg focus
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 49-room unit with an average daily census of 48
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• EMR:
  Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply:
  Spring Break (April 4–12)
• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO allowed; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work two and may request one holiday off — Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted day shift schedule is firm
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred
