Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a GA or compact state license and BLS certification.

• Work in a general Med/Surg unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6
• Utilizes Epic for charting, Pyxis for medication management, and SBAR for communication
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Day shift schedule is 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Floating is required within the facility and scope of practice
• Weekend shifts are required every other weekend
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• First time travelers will be considered for this position
• Cannot request more than 7 days of time off (RTO); no RTO allowed during Spring Break (April 4th-12th) or for major holidays unless three or more fall during the assignment
• Holiday coverage is required if a major holiday falls within your contract as per policy
• Must be away from all affiliated facilities for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No special schedule requests or travel pairs on the same shift/unit are permitted
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be met prior to start; non-compliance will delay assignment start

• Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR preferred
• Two supervisory professional references (manager level or higher) are highly preferred
