Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit assignment, requiring a GA or compact RN license and current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
Responsibilities
• Work on the Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric patients
• Common conditions include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, pulmonary embolism, DVT, and other vascular issues
• Patient ratio is typically 1:4-5 with 16 rooms on the unit
• Epic is used for charting and prior experience is required
• Pyxis and SBAR systems are utilized in the unit
• Night shift position working 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Expectation to work major holidays that fall during the assignment; if two holidays fall, both must be worked, if three, two must be worked; no holiday RTO except as permitted
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to ensure timely start; non-compliance may delay the start date
• Assignments may require module completion during orientation, recorded via transcript
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Candidates must be away from Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs will not be scheduled for the same shift on the same unit
• No blocked scheduling offered
Requirements
• Active GA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent telemetry nursing experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Epic charting experience required
• Must submit up to 7 days of requested time off (RTO) prior to assignment; no RTO allowed during the first week
