Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced PCU RN with at least one year of experience and active GA or compact RN license for a night shift telemetry position.
Responsibilities- Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics
- Care for mixed medical-surgical/telemetry, intermediate, neuro, respiratory, and cardiac patients
- Assignments may include all PCU, all MS/Tele, or a mix, based on patient acuity and staffing needs
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is high at 1:4-5
- Utilizes Epic for charting, Pyxis medication dispensing, and SBAR communication tools
- Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required within the facility
- No on-call responsibilities
- No blocked scheduling allowed
- Duties include managing telemetry and intermediate acuity patients, titrating cardiac drips, and handling a mixed patient population
- Scrub color is navy blue
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed, not permitted during first week of assignment
- Must be willing to work holidays according to unit policy based on assignment period
- First‑time travelers are welcome
- Returning travelers must have been away from all facilities for one full year before returning
- If ineligible to return to one Piedmont facility, a successful assignment at another location outside the system is required before returning
- Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift on the same unit
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience titrating cardiac drips and providing telemetry care required
- Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred
- Ability to manage a high patient ratio
- Two supervisory references from a manager or above required for consideration
