Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN with charge experience for a Med/Surg day shift position in an adult and geriatric setting, requiring a GA or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg hospital unit caring for adults and geriatrics

• Patient diagnoses include diabetes, post-op recovery, wound vacs, bariatrics, and general med/surg cases

• Ratio is 1:5-6 with a unit of 33 beds and an average daily census of 28

• Remote telemetry monitoring is utilized on the unit

• Epic EMR experience required; also uses Pyxis and SBAR

• Day shift (3x12 hours) from 7:00 to 19:00

• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed

• Required to work every other weekend

• No on-call responsibilities

• Responsible for adult and geriatric patient care including monitoring remote telemetry, post-op, and wound vacs

• Expected to work major holidays per assignment period: one if one falls during contract, both if two, or two of three if three occur

• Scrub color requirement is navy blue

• Maximum 7 days of requested time off (RTO); RTO not permitted during the first week of assignment

• Compliance with all requirements is necessary to start on time due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule

• Travel pairs may not work the same shift on the same unit

• No blocked scheduling allowed

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Current GA or compact RN license required

• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience

• Charge RN experience required

• Current BLS certification required

• Epic EMR experience required

• First-time travelers are accepted

• Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or above

• Perm or PRN staff must be away from Piedmont facilities for one full year to return as a traveler
