Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a GA or compact RN license, required certifications, and at least two years of recent ER experience.
Responsibilities- Work in a high-acuity, large 59-bed Emergency Department
- Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 with an average daily census of 165-175 patients
- Department is general ED, non-trauma, but is both Stroke and STEMI Certified
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
- Every other weekend is required
- Rare floating to other units
- Uses Epic EMR (experience required) and Pyxis medication system
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Role involves managing high-acuity cases in a busy ED setting
- Strict holiday coverage expectations based on assignment period: work one major holiday if one falls within contract, both if two, or two out of three if three holidays fall within assignment
- Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift in the same unit
- No blocked scheduling permitted
- Maximum of 7 days of RTO allowed, and RTO not permitted during the first week of assignment
- Full compliance required before start with delays for incomplete compliance due to bi-weekly orientation
- Locals are accepted at the same rate
- Active GA or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and PALS
- Epic EMR experience required
- No first-time travelers accepted
- Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or above
- Must be away for one full year from all Piedmont facilities if previously employed as perm or PRN
