PACU RN Job Details
  • Location: Augusta, Georgia (30901) - Georgia healthcare job
  • Assignment Length: 10-week travel nursing contract
  • Setting: 14-bed Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), high-volume (~45 cases/day)
  • Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (10:00 AM - 10:30 PM)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1460-$1500
  • Start Date: December 1, 2025
  • End Date: February 9, 2026
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
  • Call Requirements: Occasional, as needed (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Charting System: Epic (required)
  • Scrub Color: Navy Blue
PACU Registered Nurse Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of recent PACU RN experience in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Active Georgia or Compact RN license (required at submission)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) required
  • Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Epic charting system required
  • Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • Compliance with all facility onboarding and orientation requirements
PACU RN Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced PACU
  • Monitor and manage patients recovering from general, orthopedic, urology, spine, neuro, vascular, endoscopy, and plastic surgeries
  • Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and respond promptly to emergencies
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including IV, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response
  • Utilize Epic for accurate documentation and patient care coordination
  • Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
  • Float to other nursing units within the facility as needed (rare)
  • Participate in on-call shifts and work assigned holidays as per facility policy
