Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg assignment in a renal-focused adult to geriatric unit, requiring a GA or compact license and BLS certification.

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg unit with a primary focus on renal patients
• Cares for adult to geriatric patient population
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 with an average daily census of 48 in a 49-room unit
• Uses Epic EMR system (experience required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Three 12-hour day shifts per week from 7:00 to 19:00
• Working every other weekend is required
• Floating to other units is expected when needed
• No call requirement
• Provide renal-focused care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced environment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must be fully compliant by start date to avoid a 2-week orientation delay
• Scrub color for the unit is navy blue
• If one major holiday falls during assignment, it must be worked; if two, both must be worked; if three, two must be worked
• Returning employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year to return as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not permitted to be assigned the same shift on the same unit
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Locals are accepted at the same rate

• Active GA or compact RN license is required
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience
• Current BLS certification is required
• Experience with Epic EMR is required
• Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or above
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO); no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
