Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position specializing in renal care on a day shift, requiring a GA or compact license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical unit specializing in renal patients

• Care for adult to geriatric patient population

• Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 with 49 rooms and a daily census of 48

• Day shift schedule with 3 x 12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00

• Required to work every other weekend

• Floating to other units as needed

• No call requirements

• Documentation through Epic (required), with use of Pyxis and SBAR systems

• Daily responsibilities include managing renal Med/Surg patients and overseeing the care of adult and geriatric populations

• Navy blue scrubs are required

• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per assignment, and no requested time off allowed during the first week

• Must work major holidays that fall within the assignment period as per policy

• Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift on the same unit

• No blocked scheduling is permitted

• Both local and travel candidates are accepted at the same rate

• First-time travelers are welcome

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required

• At least 1 year of prior RN experience

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

• Experience with renal Med/Surg patients preferred

• Epic EMR experience required

• Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or above

• Perm or PRN employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year to return as a traveler

• If unable to return to one Piedmont facility, must complete a successful assignment elsewhere before rebooking at a new Piedmont location
