Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular​/CVOR

Position: Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular OR/CVOR
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) position requiring 3 years of cardiac/thoracic OR experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Work in the Adult Operating Room within a hospital setting,

• Care for cardiac and thoracic surgical patients in a unit with 2 dedicated cardiac/thoracic ORs and 22 total ORs,

• Procedures include open heart, pacemaker, laser lead extraction, VATS, and thoracotomy,

• Uses computerized charting (Surgi Net) and TMR laser equipment,

• Day shifts scheduled as 4 ten-hour shifts, shift begins at 0600,

• Call duty required with 7 shifts in a 6 week schedule including one weekend,

• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:1,

• No floating to other units or departments,

Job Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required,

• BLS certification required,

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cardiac/thoracic operating room nursing,

• Prior experience with computerized charting (Surgi Net) preferred,

Additional Information

• Role involves direct participation in complex cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures,

• Teaching hospital and level 1 trauma center environment,

• Unit orientation provided with a nurse educator and cardiac/thoracic charge nurse,

• OR scrubs are provided,

• Team call rotation is shared among 3 cardiac/thoracic nurses,

• Two weeks notice can be given for leave,
