Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Critical Care Float RN with at least one year of experience, current GA or compact license, and required certifications to float across multiple adult care units on night shift.
Responsibilities- Hospital environment with primary assignment as Critical Care Float
- Will float to ICU, Neuro ICU, CVICU, PCU, MS, and MS/Tele units as required
- Adult to geriatric patient population with various critical and progressive care diagnoses
- Patient ratios: 1:2-3 in ICU, 1:4-5 in PCU, and 1:5-6 in MS or MS/Tele
- Uses Epic EMR (experience required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication system
- Night shift schedule: four 12-hour shifts per week, 19:00-07:00
- Every other weekend required, with an average of 6 weekends per 13-week contract
- No call responsibilities
- Floating to all specified units within the hospital required
- May care for a wide range of patient acuity levels and diagnoses across critical and progressive care units
- Navy blue scrubs required
- No blocked scheduling permitted
- Cannot request RTO during the first week of assignment; maximum 7 days of RTO allowed
- Expected to work major holidays during the assignment according to facility holiday policy
- Full compliance must be completed for timely start, orientation schedule is bi-weekly
- Must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
- If unable to return to one Piedmont facility, must complete a successful assignment elsewhere before rebooking
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Travel pairs will not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Minimum one year of recent acute care RN experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- First time travelers are accepted
- Must be fully compliant with all onboarding requirements prior to start
