Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU Float position requiring ICU and critical care skills, a GA or compact RN license, and the ability to float between multiple units.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital setting as a Critical Care Float RN
- Primary assignment is ICU Float but may float to MS, MS/Tele, PCU, ICU, Neuro ICU, and CVICU units as needed
- Patient population includes adults to geriatrics with multiple critical and step-down diagnoses
- Staffing ratios are 1:2-3 for ICU, 1:4-5 for PCU, and 1:5-6 for MS and MS/Tele
- Day shifts (3x12 hours) from 7:00 to 19:00
- Every other weekend work required (approximately 6 weekends per 13-week contract)
- Uses Epic EMR, Pyxis medication system, and SBAR communication method
- Floating to various units within the hospital is required
- No call requirements
- Responsibilities include providing and coordinating care for critically ill adults across multiple hospital units
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed, and RTO is not permitted in the first week of the assignment
- No blocked scheduling permitted
- Major holiday coverage is required in accordance with assignment duration and rotation policy
- Full compliance with hospital onboarding required before the start date; orientation is scheduled bi-weekly
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Travel pairs are not allowed to be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Proficiency in Epic EMR required
- Must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year if previously employed as perm or PRN
- References from two managerial or higher-level supervisors required for consideration
