Cardiac Acute Care Services - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Piedmont Augusta Hospital Overview

Cardiac Advanced Practice Provider Acute Care Services Piedmont Augusta

Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) is recruiting for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Acute Care Services (ACS) team at Piedmont Augusta Hospital. This is a full‑time position that provides general cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) coverage seven days a week during the days (no night coverage at this time).

There is a team of physicians and APPs that staff the PHI Acute Care Service team in consulting and caring for patients. PHI ACS is a consult‑only service, not a primary service. The majority of patients are typically housed in the Heart and Vascular Tower, but the team will see patients throughout the hospital. APPs are responsible for making the consult list for the day, chart reviewing, and gathering information about their patients, and seeing and evaluating patients while constructing a plan of care.

APPs will be expected to obtain consent for procedures, place pre‑procedure orders and perform lab review and medication reconciliation. It is not in the team's regularly scheduled week, but times will arise during which APPs will need to assist with stress testing.

This is a great opportunity to be employed by one of the nation's leading cardiology programs. You will work alongside some of the most respected and highly‑trained physicians. Piedmont Heart Institute provides the full line of cardiovascular services with dedicated electrophysiology, transplant, advanced heart failure, critical care, interventional, surgical and research services.
