Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit, requiring a GA or compact RN license and competency in core medical-surgical nursing skills.
Responsibilities

• Position located in a hospital Med/Surg unit serving adult to geriatric patients

• Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6 with 32 rooms and an average census of 29

• Responsibilities include all common Med/Surg diagnoses and procedures such as wound care, isolation precautions, IV therapy, blood product administration, and chest tube management

• Epic EMR experience required along with use of Pyxis and SBAR

• Day shifts, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:30

• Work every other weekend and float as needed

• No call requirements

• Duties include wound and feeding tube care, wound vac, PICC line management, blood product administration, and applying isolation precautions

• Navy blue scrubs required

• Holiday coverage is required in accordance with assignment length and local policy

• No blocked scheduling allowed

• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed, but none during the first week or during major holidays

• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time

• Travel pairs are not permitted to be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required

• Current BLS certification required

• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience required

• Epic EMR experience required

• Must be away from any Piedmont facility for at least 1 year if previously employed as perm/PRN

• Returning travelers must complete a successful assignment outside of Piedmont if previously ineligible to return
