Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift renal unit assignment, requiring a GA or compact RN license and experience with adult to geriatric patients.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital-based Medical Surgical Renal unit
- Adult to geriatric patient population with an average nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Unit has 49 rooms with an average daily census of 48
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
- Weekend shifts required every other weekend
- Floating to other units as needed
- No call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR (experience required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
- Expected to work assigned major holidays according to facility holiday policy
- A maximum of 7 days of requested time off is permitted, with no time off allowed during the first week of assignment
- Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
- Full compliance with facility requirements is necessary prior to start; delayed compliance may impact assignment start date
- No blocked scheduling permitted
- Travel pairs are not permitted to be assigned the same shift on the same unit
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Facility accepts local candidates at the same rate
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Experience with renal patients preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or above
- Former perm/PRN staff must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year to be eligible
- Return travelers unable to return to a facility must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before returning
