Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with at least one year of experience and an active GA or compact RN license for a renal-focused unit assignment.
Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Renal Med/Surg unit with adult and geriatric patient population

• Patient ratio of 1:5-6; 49 rooms with an average daily census of 48

• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00–19:00

• Every other weekend required

• Floating to other units as needed

• No call requirements

• Uses Epic EMR (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools

• Navy blue scrubs required

• Responsible for providing care to renal Med/Surg patients across adult and geriatric populations

• First time travelers will be considered

• Non-local candidates accepted at the same rate as locals

• No blocked scheduling permitted

• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed; no time off during first week of assignment

• Holiday work required in accordance with assignment period: one holiday for one falling within the contract, both if two occur, and two if three occur during the contract

• Must achieve full compliance prior to start or assignment may be delayed due to bi-weekly orientation

• Travel pairs will not be scheduled for the same shift on the same unit
Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required

• Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg nursing experience

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

• Epic EMR experience required

• Two supervisory references must be provided for consideration

• Must not have worked at any Piedmont facility within the past year to be eligible as a traveler
