Job Overview

Georgia‑Pacific is hiring a Multi‑Craft Maintenance Technician for our Corrugated Packaging facility in Augusta, GA. The role supports facility safety, uptime, efficiency, and profitability as part of the Maintenance Reliability Team.

Compensation & Schedule
  • Salary: $36.43‑$42.41 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Shift: 2‑3‑2 work schedule (7A‑7P or 7P‑7A). Training will be on 1st shift for 3 months. Candidates must be flexible to work any shift.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial corrugated box‑making machinery.
  • Diagnose electrical motors, frequency drives, PLCs, proximity sensors, limit switches, and relays.
  • Troubleshoot industrial electrical issues (12 VDC to 480 VAC).
  • Perform routine scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Respond to unscheduled floor calls with urgency.
  • Work knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision‑measuring devices, and testing instruments.
  • Provide own basic hand tools and rolling toolbox.
  • Work any shift, holiday, weekend, and overtime as needed.
  • Self‑starting, disciplined work ethic.
  • Collaborate with team members on problem solving.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years maintenance technician experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing both mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Preferred Experience
  • Industrial electrical knowledge with advanced motor and frequency drive troubleshooting experience.
  • Mechanical maintenance experience with conveyor systems, actuated valves, and welding.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.).
  • Prior packaging industry maintenance experience focused on converting/corrugating equipment.
  • Associate’s degree in electrical and/or mechanical technology.
