Description:
W/WAGT has an immediate opening for a Chief Engineer to serve as the lead point person overseeing a three‑person Engineering team responsible for all technical aspects of Television and Content Broadcasting.
Duties / Responsibilities:- Troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of television broadcast equipment and broadcast computer networks.
- Engages Master Control engineering and operations to resolve technical issues.
- Troubleshoots and repairs a variety of issues with broadcast and IT equipment.
- Works with third‑party vendors to ensure maintenance for the station, transmitter sites, grounds, and facilities are all kept clean and in proper working order.
- Some smaller general maintenance and auto may be needed.
- Electrical Engineering or other technical degree preferred.
- Experience in broadcast engineering or equivalent experience in live TV production.
- Proven track record of starting, participating, and managing large projects.
- Must be knowledgeable in all areas of technical production and repair, configuration, and operation with all studio production, including broadcast audio, video, and control systems, video servers, storage area networks, editing, and post‑production systems.
- Understanding of broadcast television and streaming technologies from studio and post production to master control and distribution.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks in a high‑pressure environment.
