Job SummaryA training position designed to learn through engagement in an advanced level of scientific technical and administrative work in support of research efforts in an assigned laboratory or clinical research setting. Responsibilities include research data collection, protocol development, literature review, manuscript preparation, and presentation at scientific meetings.
Responsibilities- Analyze experimental results using manual or computer techniques; develop special computer programs if necessary.
- Teach and perform complex bacteriological, chemical, and radiochemical qualitative and quantitative analysis; support macro- and micro-serological, histologic, and cell culture procedures.
- Participate in project planning and development of research protocols while ensuring compliance with federal guidelines.
- Coordinate and review scientific literature; summarize findings; develop derivative applications of techniques.
- Compose articles for publication in scientific journals; review articles prepared by others.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of students, graduate assistants, and other research personnel; advise principal investigators and other Post Docs.
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and operate microscopes, computer-linked analytical equipment, dedicated computers, and other complex scientific equipment; instruct others in operation of equipment.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Ph.D. or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
Preferred QualificationsMust be eligible for GA license.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Maintain confidentiality and complete work on time.
- Work independently with general supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases; willingness to learn.
Shift: Days/M-F (may require work outside normal business hours). Salary commensurate with qualifications within the established range.
