Position SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team in Augusta, GA. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing client‑centered care and supporting individuals through their recovery journey. This position is full‑time and offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Licensure RequirementCandidates must hold active Georgia licensure as an LCSW or LCMHC (or equivalent professional counseling license).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Evaluate behavioral, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and social needs of clients and their families.
- Collaborate regularly with the treatment team to develop and monitor individualized treatment goals in accordance with clinical and accreditation standards.
- Facilitate clinical services including individual and family therapy, therapeutic groups, and coordination with referral sources and outpatient providers.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the Electronic Client Record (ECR) system.
- Support utilization review processes by providing necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Participate in aftercare planning and outcome tracking as appropriate.
- Contribute to program development through curriculum enhancement, literature review, and staff training aligned with clinical philosophy.
- Participate in on‑call rotation as directed by supervision and program policy.
- Conduct Level of Care Assessments as required.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for clients and respond appropriately to crisis situations.
- Complete all required trainings and adhere to program policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Master’s Degree in counseling, social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Active Georgia licensure as LCSW or LCMHC (or eligible equivalent).
- Experience in mental health, trauma, or substance use treatment preferred.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
