• Prepare medical and surgical instrumentation for distribution to and from the AU Health enterprise, including off-site affiliations.
• Operate decontamination and sterilization of equipment.
• Inspect, assemble, and wrap surgical instrument trays—from simple to complex.
• Decontaminate and high-level disinfect flexible endoscopes.
• Pull and distribute case carts for procedures.
• Assist with the establishment and execution of quality control processes related to sterile processing.
• Provide services through knowledge and implementation of regulatory guidelines and designated policies and procedures.
• Work cooperatively with Sterile Processing team and the Operating Room with professionalism and ethical standards.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. No work experience required if candidate has HS diploma or GED. If not, 5 years of work experience in sterile processing may be used in lieu of education.
• Basic computer skills.
• Certification(s) required: CSPDT through CBSPD or CRCST through HSPA within 1 year of hire.

• Vocational or technical training or degree in Sterile Processing.
• 1 year or more of experience in sterile processing.
• Knowledge of Surgical Instrumentation, Decontamination, and Sterilization.
