Location specifics: Augusta University aims to serve its health sciences campus and Summerville campus with locations in downtown Augusta.
Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Nursing Manager, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Director of Nursing, the Restorative Tech delivers restorative nursing care to assigned residents on nursing units. The role supports residents’ physical wellbeing by maximizing current abilities and promoting independence in collaboration with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy professionals.
Responsibilities- Assist residents with treatment on the unit, including ambulation with or without assistive devices; apply proper body mechanics to prevent injuries.
- Perform restorative nursing duties, including Active and Passive Range of Motion; conduct individual and group exercises; motivate residents to maintain or increase activity levels.
- Complement training with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instruct residents on wheelchair operation and other ADLs.
- Assist with fall reduction measures, position needs, and participate in relevant teams and committees; document in Point Click Care (PCC).
- Communicate verbally and in writing about residents’ responses to treatment; observe and report unusual reactions to Nurse Managers or Therapists; cooperate with PT, PTA, OT, and OTA as appropriate.
- Maintain professionalism and provide strong customer service to residents, visitors, and employees.
- Clean and disinfect equipment; perform minor repairs as needed.
- Review assessments and attend meetings; participate in restorative program planning and fall risk meetings.
- Assist with in-services and training as needed; perform duties listed in the Certified Nursing Assistant job description and other related assignments as directed by supervision.
- Educational Requirements: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent with one year of experience in long-term care.
- Required Experience: Experience in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and activity treatment, handling residents and equipment.

Required Qualifications:
Active Nursing Assistant certification in Georgia and American Heart Association BLS with CPR certification. - Preferred Qualifications: Experience in geriatric care (preferably long-term care); experience in physical or occupational therapy; prior restorative nursing experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge of basic anatomy and nursing skills; familiarity with PT/OT/Speech and maintenance programs; interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to follow written and verbal instructions; memory for details useful in applying splints and assessing ROM.
- Certifications/License: Active Nursing Assistant certification in Georgia; BLS with CPR.
Shift: Days, Monday–Friday
Pay Band: B5
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications within the established range (generally minimum to midpoint).
