Job SummaryThe Dental Associates Financial Coordinator serves as the lead front‑office representative and key financial resource within the Faculty Practice. The role upholds DCG’s patient‑ and family‑centered care standards by delivering accurate financial and insurance information, resolving patient concerns, and collaborating with providers and staff.
Responsibilities- Lead front‑office personnel in customer service excellence and resolve patient concerns.
- Coordinate registration, scheduling, and appointment management to maximize provider productivity.
- Oversee insurance functions: verify eligibility, manage pre‑authorizations, resolve claim/payment discrepancies, and log into accepted DCG insurance systems.
- Perform daily reconciliation of payments and maintain accurate bank balances.
- Assist patients in accessing account information and resolve discrepancies.
- Generate and review reports on patient accounts, payments, and collections; provide recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain provider schedules, produce recall lists, and ensure timely appointment confirmations.
- Assist new patient scheduling, including registration in the Axi Um system and sending welcome letters.
- Provide phone support for appointment scheduling, insurance inquiries, and emergency dental needs.
- Handle referrals, adjust daily provider schedules, and coordinate with other clinics for assistance.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in Business or related field with two years of experience in a dental, medical, or financial services setting.
- or Bachelor’s degree with five years of experience in a dental, medical, or financial services setting.
- Experience with dental insurance billing, financial planning, and patient‑facing roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and dental practice management systems (e.g., Axi Um).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
- Excellent customer service, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently or as a team member.
- Ability to produce an acceptable work volume and meet deadlines.
