Job Summary

The Research Operations Coordinator is responsible for mediating the operations of the GCC Biorepository, including maintaining adequate reagent and instrument inventory, supporting administrative functions for BRAG-Onc and regulatory protocols in the biorepository, and interfacing with the IRB and other regulatory entities to maintain regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
  • ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT:
    Supervise biorepository personnel, orient staff in acquiring, registering, de-identifying, storing, tracking and redistributing biospecimens to faculty investigators with IRB-approved research. Coordinate with biorepository staff, ancillary lab personnel, other laboratories and core facilities to ensure compliant, efficient biorepository operations with emphasis on safety. Coordinate specimen request applications to TTBRC and communication with PRMC.
  • DATABASE COLLECTION:
    Oversee collection of clinical information and its entry into databases. Maintain patient confidentiality and act as honest broker for the Biorepository IRB. Support implementation of new informatics resources and interface software.
  • IRBNET-STUDY COORDINATOR:
    Manage IRB issues for specified studies, submit IRB renewals and personnel changes, and maintain regulatory binders.
  • BRAG-ONC PROCESS CONTROL:
    Interface with BRAG-Onc sites and assist with process control, including consent, procurement, and shipment of annotated samples to the central repository.
  • SPECIMEN TRACKING:
    Track donor consents, ensure specimens have corresponding consent, update trial binders, scan and file consents and pathology reports, and coordinate invoicing related to specimen distribution and slide scanning.
  • OTHER DUTIES:
    Oversee maintenance of the GCC Biorepository cart and assist with transportation needs.
Qualifications
  • Required:

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with experience in research.
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    Maintain confidentiality; excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; detail-oriented with strong organizational and critical-thinking skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software/databases.
Shift/Salary/Benefits

Pay Band: B10. Salary Minimum: $52,500 - $58,146. Salary is commensurate with qualifications within the established range. Recruitment Period: 12/6/24 – Until Filled. Augusta University offers comprehensive benefits for full-time employees, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, retirement plans, vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Tuition Assistance Program eligibility may apply after six months of employment.
