DJJ Certified Medical Assistant - Atlanta, GA

Job Summary

Location: Metro RYDC (DeKalb County), 1300 Constitution Road, SE Atlanta, GA

Full Time: 40 hours per week

Base Rate: $20.00 per hour

Paid Days Off: 41 days per year

• Perform administrative and clinical skills in the medical care environment.
• Provide support to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other providers as needed.
• Evaluate and prepare patients to be seen by providers.
• Conduct patient triage, including taking vital signs, recording patient interviews/complaints, and preparing patients for exams or procedures.
• Process laboratory requests and perform venipuncture.
• Perform routine screening tests, EKGs, nebulizer treatments, and change dressings as ordered.
• Prepare and administer medications as prescribed; record times and amounts on patient records.
• Enter clinical data into the electronic medical record and maintain accurate, complete documentation.
• Assist with administrative clerical duties, answering phones and scheduling appointments when required.

• High school diploma with two years of experience and one of the following certifications: AAMA, CCMA, Med Ca, NCMA, RMA.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Detail-oriented.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

• Three or more years of previous experience in a clinical setting, including correctional clinical experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
• Bi-lingual ability is a plus.
