Established in 2017, the Department of Juvenile Justice Health Services is a collaboration between Augusta University Health System and the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice to deliver high‑quality health services to justice‑involved youth in 25 facilities.

Educational Requirements- High school diploma with two years of experience.
- Certification: AAMA – American Association of Medical Assistant, CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Med Ca – Medical Career Assessment, NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant, or RMA – Registered Medical Assistant.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Detail‑oriented.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
- Three or more years of previous experience in a clinical setting, including correctional clinical experience.
- Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Provide support to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other providers.
- Evaluate and prepare patients for provider visits.
- Conduct patient triage: take vital signs, record patient interviews/complaints, and prepare patients for exams or procedures.
- Process lab requests, including venipuncture.
- Perform routine screening tests, EKGs, nebulizer treatments, and dressing changes as ordered.
- Prepare and administer medications as prescribed; record times and amounts in patient records.
- Enter clinical data into electronic medical records and maintain accurate documentation.
- Assist with administrative clerical duties, answer phones, and schedule appointments as needed.
- Shifts may vary based on site availability.
- Base rate: $20.00 per hour.
- 41 paid days off per year.
