Singlife was subsequently acquired by Sumitomo Life in March 2024, one of Japan’s leading life insurers, which valued Singlife at S $4.6 billion, making the transaction one of the largest insurance deals in Southeast Asia.
Appointments
- Balance Sheet Management within Capital Management function of Singlife.
- Responsible for matching adjustment portfolio optimization.
- Responsible for focused capital requirement optimization.
- Build scenario-based ALM models to support strategic decision-making, ensuring the models are robust and validated.
- Conduct in-depth capital impact analyses under various economic and regulatory conditions, and recommend management actions in view of these impacts.
- Proactively explore capital relief solutions including financial reinsurance and captive reinsurance.
- Quantify and assess impact of capital relief solutions, and model/implement these capital relief solutions into BAU process.
- Monitor effectiveness of capital relief solutions.
- Provide insights into organisation’s financial position/sensitivities and optimize capital to help drive sustainable growth.
- At least 10 to 15 years of actuarial experience in life and health valuation.
- Strong knowledge/experience of Singapore Risk Based Capital 2 and IC/S.
- Strong leadership and able to motivate team members to deliver projects on a timely basis.
- Great teamwork and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders including Finance, Investment Office, regulators, auditors, reinsurers and group office.
- Academic:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Actuarial Science. - Professional Certification(s):
Fellow of Society of Actuaries, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or Institute of Actuaries Australia.
