Job Summary
James M Hull College of Business at Augusta University seeks qualified applicants for a full‑time tenure‑track faculty position in Management at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, with an anticipated employment start date of August 1, 2026. The selected candidate must have a demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline‑relevant peer‑reviewed intellectual contributions. About 40% of the workload will be dedicated to research and faculty development.
Course load will be 2‑3 courses per semester, or about 50% of workload.
- Teaching (≈50%):
Teach courses as assigned by the Dean, including grading, maintaining regular office hours, class preparation, and adherence to university teaching policies. - Service (≈10%):
Provide service to Augusta University, the discipline, and professional organizations. - Research & Scholarship (≈40%):
Conduct persistent scholarship yielding national/international recognition and impact; publish and present appropriately in the field.
- PhD in management or a closely related field (or expected to obtain before start of employment).
- Demonstrated ability or potential for discipline‑relevant peer‑reviewed intellectual contributions.
- Demonstrated ability or potential for teaching excellence within the discipline.
- Assistant Professor: early‑career faculty member;
Associate Professor: mid‑level faculty with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable experience. - Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) accreditation requirements.
- Evidence of teaching activity.
- Evidence of scholarly activity and ability for other assigned duties.
- Successful experience (waived for those just entering the profession who meet all other requirements).
- Published or forthcoming peer‑reviewed publications in management and related disciplines.
- Prior work experience and interest in building relationships with local businesses, industry, and stakeholders.
- Online teaching experience.
- Effective teaching experience in Management, Operations, Supply Chain Management, and/or Management Science, with a preference for hospitality and service operations.
- Record of excellence in teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Five or more years of university‑level teaching and a successful research agenda, plus evidence of community and business outreach (considered for Associate Professor rank).
The position is academic year based (August – May) and is full‑time (FTE 1.0). Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and is subject to availability of funds.
