Position: Faculty member – rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (non‑tenure track)

Job Summary

Augusta University's Medical College of Georgia, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks a faculty member to test, diagnose, treat, and monitor women's health conditions, provide care during pregnancy and childbirth, and offer inpatient/outpatient obstetrics and gynecology services across assigned clinic locations, including infant delivery and surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of tests, including pap smears, pelvic, and breast exams.
  • Diagnose and prescribe treatments for disorders and diseases.
  • Conduct routine check‑ups of patients.
  • Monitor and treat expectant mothers during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.
  • Record medical histories.
  • Educate patients about disease prevention, detection, and reproductive health.
  • Collaborate with other medical and non‑medical personnel.
  • Keep up to date with current practices and innovations.
  • Provide clinical coverage and resident supervision in Labor and Delivery.
  • Provide patient care in ambulatory setting and in surgical theater.
Resident Education

10% of time dedicated to education of residents and students and supervision in ambulatory setting and surgery.

Required Qualifications

General Requirements: MD or equivalent, licensed or eligible for license in Georgia, current DEA, board‑certified or board‑eligible, and eligible for an active Georgia State medical license.

Academic Rank Requirements:

  • Assistant Professor: Early‑career faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.
  • Associate Professor: Mid‑career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor (or comparable).
  • Professor: Senior‑career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor (or comparable).

USG Faculty

Employment Qualifications:

  • Consistent with SACSCOC accreditation.
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher.
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.
  • Successful experience (waived if just entering the profession with other requirements met).
  • Desirable personal qualities judged by interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
Shift / Salary / Benefits

Fiscal year based, year‑round. Full‑time (1.0 FTE). Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to availability of funds. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, 13 paid holidays, vacation leave, sick leave, generous retirement plans, tuition waiver, wellness options, and tuition assistance after 6 months employment.
