Job Summary
Psychology Service faculty position at the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. Position at rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.
Responsibilities- Clinical responsibilities (90% of time): serve in the outpatient clinic, supervise psychology interns/fellows, provide direct group and individual psychotherapy services.
- Teaching responsibilities (10% of time): teach residents, interns, and medical students; facilitate pre‑clinical medical student case‑based learning small groups.
- Ph.D. or Psy.
D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. - Faculty rank requirements:
- Assistant Professor – Early‑career faculty member with appropriate post‑graduate training.
- Associate Professor – Mid‑level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training.
- Professor – Senior‑level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Associate Professor or comparable training.
- Consistent with SACSCOC requirements for institutional accreditation.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
- Evidence of scholarly activity and competence in all other duties.
- Successful experience (waived for those just entering academic profession who meet all other requirements).
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
This fiscal‑year based position works year‑round, full‑time (1.0 FTE). Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and are subject to the availability of funds. Rank and salary are determined at hire based on experience, education, credentials, specialty, training, internal equity, and market data.
