Job Summary
James M Hull College of Business at Augusta University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time, tenure-track, faculty position in Marketing at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated employment start date of August 1, 2026. The selected candidate must have a demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline relevant peer-reviewed intellectual contributions. About 40% of the workload will be dedicated to research and faculty development.
Course load will be 2-3 courses per semester term, or about 50% of workload. Candidates should be prepared to deliver courses online, as hybrid online/face-to-face, and face-to-face with a strong preference for candidates who can combine these approaches in an assigned section.

Service in the college committees. - Scholarship - 40%:
Research and faculty development.
- PhD in Marketing or closely related field (must hold or receive before start of employment).
- Demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline relevant peer-reviewed intellectual contributions.
- Demonstrated capability or potential for teaching excellence within the discipline.
- Experience in hospitality.
- Assistant Professor – Early career faculty member.
- Consistent with SACSCOC requirements for institutional accreditation.
- Evidence of ability as a teacher.
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.
- Successful experience (waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements).
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
- Effective teaching experience in digital marketing and/or social media at the undergraduate level is preferred.
- Record of excellence in teaching and learning; strong communications and interpersonal skills.
- Published or forthcoming peer-reviewed publications in marketing or related disciplines; prior work experience in digital marketing and/or social media is a plus.
- Interest in interaction and relationship-building with local businesses, industry, and stakeholders; online teaching experience is a plus.
This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract. The intended work commitment (FTE) is 1.0. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and subject to funds availability. Full-time employees with more than 6 months of service may be considered for the Tuition Assistance Program.
Rank and salary are determined at hire based on experience, education, credentials, and market factors. Advancement through the faculty ranks follows the annual Promotion and Tenure process.
