Job Summary

James M Hull College of Business at Augusta University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Management Information Systems at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated employment start date of August 1, 2026. The selected candidate must have a demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline relevant peer-reviewed intellectual contributions is required. About 40% of the workload will be dedicated to research and faculty development.

Course load will be 2-3 courses per semester term, or about 50% of workload. Candidates should be prepared to deliver courses online, as hybrid online/face-to-face, and face-to-face with a strong preference for candidates who can combine these approaches in an assigned section.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

PhD in Management Information Systems, or a closely related field. Demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline relevant peer-reviewed intellectual contributions is required. Equally important is the demonstrated capability or potential for teaching excellence within the discipline.

  • Assistant Professor – Early level career as a faculty member
  • All USG institutions and academic ranks requirements:
    • Consistent with SACSCOC accreditation requirements
    • Evidence of ability as a teacher
    • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned
    • Successful experience (waived for those just entering the profession who meet other requirements)
    • Desirable personal qualities judged in interviews, by biographical data, and recommendations
Preferred Qualifications

Published or forthcoming peer-reviewed publications in related disciplines are a plus, as is prior work experience. Interest in interaction and relationship-building with local businesses and stakeholders, as well as online teaching experience.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates in the offer letter and yearly contract. The intended work commitment (FTE) is 1.0. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and is subject to funds availability. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, sick leave, retirement plans, tuition waiver, wellness options, and more. Eligible full-time employees may participate in the Tuition Assistance Program after more than 6 months of employment.

Rank and salary are determined at hire and depend on experience, education, credentials, and market data.
