James M Hull College of Business at Augusta University seeks qualified applicants for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Management Information Systems at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated employment start date of August 1, 2026. The selected candidate must have a demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline relevant peer-reviewed intellectual contributions. About 40% of the workload will be dedicated to research and faculty development.

Course load will be 2-3 courses per semester term, or about 50% of workload. Candidates should be prepared to deliver courses online, as hybrid online/face-to-face, and face-to-face with a strong preference for candidates who can combine these approaches in an assigned section.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching - 50%:
    Teaching expectation to teach classes during the academic year as assigned by the Dean, including duties and obligations expected of a college professor such as grading, maintaining regular office hours, class preparations, and adherence to university policies regarding teaching.
  • Research and Scholarship - 40%:
    Persistent scholarship leading to national/international recognition and impact. Key measures include publications and presentations appropriate to the field, including articles on instruction in the field and related activities.
  • Service - 10%:
    Service to Augusta University as requested by the Dean, and service to the profession including local, regional, and national/international leadership within the discipline.
Required Qualifications
  • PhD in Management Information Systems, or a closely related field. Demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline relevant peer-reviewed intellectual contributions is required. Demonstrated capability or potential for teaching excellence within the discipline is essential.
  • Assistant Professor – Early level career as a faculty member.
  • Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher;
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
  • Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications

Published or forthcoming peer-reviewed publications in related disciplines are a plus, as is prior work experience. Interest in interaction and relationship-building with local businesses and stakeholders, as well as having online teaching experience.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and subject to availability of funds. Employees employed for more than 6 months may be considered for Tuition Assistance Program. Rank and salary are determined at hire and based on experience, education, credentials, training, and internal equity and market data.
