Assistant/Associate Professor in Management
Full-time tenure‑track faculty position in Management at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, with an anticipated employment start date of August 1, 2026. The selected candidate must have a demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline‑relevant peer‑reviewed intellectual contributions. About 40% of workload will be dedicated to research and faculty development. Course load will be 2–3 courses per semester or about 50% of workload.
Candidates should be prepared to deliver courses online, hybrid online/face‑to‑face, and face‑to‑face with a strong preference for those who can combine these approaches in an assigned section.
- Teaching – 50%
Teach classes during the academic year as assigned by the Dean, including grading, maintaining regular office hours, class preparations, and compliance with university policies regarding teaching. - Service – 10%
Provide service to Augusta University as requested by the Dean, and to the profession, including local, regional, and national/international leadership within the discipline. - Research & Scholarship – 40%
Engage in persistent scholarship leading to national/international recognition and impact. Key measures of success include publications and presentations appropriate to the field.
Applicants must hold (or receive before start of employment) a PhD in Management or a closely related field. Demonstrated capability or potential in developing discipline‑relevant peer‑reviewed intellectual contributions is required. Equally important is demonstrated capability or potential for teaching excellence within the discipline.
- Assistant Professor – Early‑career faculty member.
- Associate Professor – Mid‑level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent.
- USG institutions and all academic ranks require:
- Compliance with SACSCOC accreditation requirements.
- Evidence of teaching ability.
- Evidence of scholarship and ability in all assigned duties.
- Successful experience (waived for new academics who meet all other criteria).
- Desirable personal qualities judged during interview and from recommendations.
- Published or forthcoming peer‑reviewed publications in management and related disciplines.
- Prior work experience and interest in partnership with local businesses, industry, and stakeholders.
- Online teaching experience.
- Effective teaching experience in Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, and/or Management Science, with a preference for hospitality and service operations.
- A record of excellence in teaching and learning, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Five or more years of university‑level teaching, development of a successful research agenda, and evidence of community and business outreach may be considered for the Associate Professor rank.
This academic year position typically works August through May, with a full‑time equivalent (FTE) of 1.0.
Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, and subject to availability of funds.
