Job Summary

James M Hull College of Business at Augusta University seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Marketing, with an anticipated employment start date of August 1, 2026. Responsibilities

Teaching – 50%:
Course load will be two to three courses per semester term (approximately 50% of workload). Candidates should be prepared to deliver courses online, as hybrid online/face‑to‑face, and face‑to‑face, with a strong preference for those who can combine these approaches in an assigned section.

Service – 10%:
Service in college committees.

Scholarship – 40%:
Research and faculty development.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must hold (or obtain before start of employment) a PhD in marketing or a closely related field and demonstrate the capability or potential to produce discipline‑relevant peer‑reviewed intellectual contributions. Equally important is demonstrated potential for teaching excellence within the discipline.

  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)’s accreditation requirements.
  • Evidence of teaching ability.
  • Evidence of research activity and ability in all other duties assigned.
  • Successful experience, which will be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements.
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications

Ability to maintain confidentiality; proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases; effective teaching experience in digital marketing and/or social media at the undergraduate level; a record of excellence in teaching and learning; excellent communications and interpersonal skills; published or forthcoming peer‑reviewed publications in marketing and related disciplines; prior work experience in digital marketing and/or social media; an interest in interaction and relationship‑building with local businesses, industry, and stakeholders;

Shift / Salary / Benefits

This academic‑year position typically works August through May, with a full‑time equivalent of 1.0. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and are subject to availability of funds. Eligible full‑time employees after six months may be considered for the Tuition Assistance Program.
