Job Summary
The Department of Allied Health Professions‑Respiratory Therapy at Augusta University seeks a faculty member at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor. The role includes teaching, clinical education, scholarship, and service to the institution and profession.
Responsibilities- Teaching 80%:
Teach courses in the Respiratory Therapy Program (didactic and clinical). - Provide leadership in academic instruction and clinical education, ensuring high-quality learning experiences.
- Contribute to program evaluation, curriculum development, and mentor faculty and clinical educators.
- Maintain professional connections with relevant organizations, community partners, advisory boards, and accreditation bodies.
- Scholarship 10%: conduct research, publish, present, and secure funding.
- Service 10%: participate in student recruitment, admissions, academic advising, mentorship, and other student‑success initiatives.
- Serve on departmental, college, and institutional committees; engage in professional service and advocacy.
- Master’s in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
- Minimum 4 years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- At least 2 years teaching in a registered CoARC‑accredited program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor.
- RTT Credential and eligibility for Georgia RCP license.
- Rank‑specific experience:
- Assistant Professor: 0–4 years.
- Associate Professor: ≥5 years at Assistant Professor level.
- Professor: ≥10 years in the field, including ≥5 years as Associate Professor; terminal degree required.
- Compliance with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) accreditation requirements.
- Evidence of teaching ability, scholarship, and service.
- Successful experience (waived for early‑career candidates meeting all other requirements).
- Desirable personal qualities based on interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
- All candidates must pass a Background Check review prior to employment.
- Doctoral degree.
- Specialty credentials.
- Additional years of experience.
Full‑time (1.0 FTE). Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to availability of funds. The position is fiscal‑year based and works year‑round.
