Job SummaryThe Assistant Director of Freshman Recruitment implements Augusta University's freshman recruitment plan to recruit, admit, and enroll new first‑year freshmen students. This position supervises multiple Admissions Counselors, assists them with territory management, and manages the assistant director's own territory to meet enrollment targets.
Responsibilities- Territory Management: manage a specific recruitment territory, use data to plan and implement recruitment efforts, schedule and coordinate high school visits and speaking engagements, travel to college fairs and recruitment events, coordinate relationships with school counselors, correspond with prospective students and families via email, phone, social media, and in‑person meetings, and give presentations at events.
- Recruitment Team Leadership: supervise, assign tasks, and provide support and guidance for Admissions Counselors, teach staff to utilize data and trends, assist staff in analyzing applicant reports, train and guide staff on travel planning and policies, and analyze applicant reports for trends to guide recruitment decisions.
- Strategic Recruitment & Departmental Leadership: create and implement recruitment tactics and event programming, assist in the development and execution of communications to prospective students (including electronic communications sent through Slate CRM), manage and implement special events and recruitment strategies for special populations (e.g., Jaguar Jumpstart, Professional Scholars, Honors programs), and implement recruitment initiatives for special populations as needed.
- Committees: serve on institutional and divisional committees to support the mission of Augusta University.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of related experience.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university with experience in student affairs, higher education, or a related field.
- Understanding of emergent and best practices in recruitment and admission.
- Detail‑oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Demonstrated event planning skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and utilize complex admission and enrollment data.
- Ability to respond to sensitive inquiries or students in challenging situations.
- Commitment to the development of a student‑centered, residential campus environment through collaborative teamwork.
- Shift: Days;
Mon‑Fri (may require work outside standard business hours). - Pay Band: B10.
- Salary: $52,500–$54,600 annually (commensurate with qualifications).
- Recruitment Period:
Until Filled. - Benefits: health, dental, life, Teachers Retirement System (or Optional Retirement Plan), vacation, sick leave, 13 paid holidays; tuition assistance for eligible employees after 6 months.
- All selected candidates must successfully pass a background check prior to starting.
- Credit check required for positions of trust or departmental purchase card usage (if applicable).
- Motor vehicle reports required for positions that require driving an Augusta University vehicle.
