Job Summary
The School of Computer and Cyber Sciences at Augusta University invites applications for three tenure‑track/tenured faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in Cybersecurity Engineering. The selected candidates will demonstrate sustained research excellence and a commitment to quality in undergraduate and graduate education. The target appointment date is Fall 2024. Augusta University is expanding its computing, cybersecurity, and data science activities.

Job TypeFull Time, academic year based (August–May)
Responsibilities- Teach classes during the academic year as assigned by the Dean, including grading, maintaining regular office hours, and preparing classes in accordance with university teaching policies.
- Pursue a persistent scholarship leading to national or international recognition, measured by publications and presentations in high‑quality venues.
- Provide service to the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences, Augusta University, and the profession, including local, regional, national, and international leadership roles.
- PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity.
- Assistant Professor: doctoral degree and an active research program with publications in high‑quality journals or conference proceedings.
- Associate Professor: doctoral degree, at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor, an active externally‑funded research program, a strong publication record, visibility in the research community via conference program committee membership, and a record of mentoring graduate students.
- Professor: doctoral degree, at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor, an active federally or state externally‑funded research program, an outstanding publication record, leadership such as chairing program committees or serving on editorial boards, and proven mentoring of doctoral students.
- Consistent with SACSCOC accreditation requirements.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness, scholarly activity, and other duties assigned.
- Successful experience or waiver for those new to academia who meet all other requirements.
- Desirable personal qualities judged by interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
Position is full‑time, 1.0 FTE. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and are subject to availability of funds. Eligible full‑time employees after six months may be considered for the Tuition Assistance Program. Advancement occurs through the annual Promotion and Tenure process.

The School of Computer and Cyber Sciences, established in 2017, offers Bachelor and graduate degrees in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, cyber operations, cybersecurity engineering, and biomedical systems engineering. It is located at the Georgia Cyber Center, featuring a cyber range, auditorium, secure briefing space, incubator, and classrooms.
