Overview

Assistant Professor in Cellular Biology and Anatomy – Augusta University. The Department of Cellular Biology and Anatomy (CBS), Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Augusta University seeks an Assistant Professor with expertise in visual system research. The ideal candidate will develop an independent research program investigating eye-related diseases that complements existing vision research strengths. The successful candidate will become a member of the James and Jean Culver Vision Discovery Institute, which includes basic scientists and clinicians working on various blinding disorders.

Augusta University offers an interdisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art core facilities and a NEI Center Core Grant for Vision Research (P30). • Education:
  
  Teach at the Medical College of Georgia and/or Augusta University Graduate School and mentor graduate students.
• Research:
  Establish a vigorous, independent, extramurally funded research program that complements vision research goals of the University.
• Service:
  Participate on committees and provide public and professional service to the community and the department/college/university/USG.

• Doctoral degree in Medicine or PhD in Biological Sciences.
• Strong potential for research with potential for obtaining extramural funding.
• Early career faculty member with appropriate post-graduate training.

• Current extramural funding and demonstrated potential to continue it.

• Position is fiscal year-based and works year-round with a full-time equivalence (FTE) of 1.0.
• Salary and benefits are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and subject to funds availability.
