Position # . The Division of Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. The Division of Rheumatology strives to excel in the care of patients' rheumatologic disorders with a focus on treatment, education and research advancement. The Division provides services to citizens of the Central Savannah River area and across the state through Rheumatology clinics and inpatient services.
This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.
- Outpatient Clinic – Clinical Care (70%):
Provide outpatient clinic to Rheumatology patients. - Rheumatology Inpatient (5%):
Rheumatology inpatient consults. - On‑Call (5%):
On‑Call for Rheumatology division. - Teaching (20%):
Teaching of students, residents and fellows for Rheumatology division.
- MD, DO or equivalent degree from an appropriately accredited institution.
- Board certified or board eligible in Rheumatology.
- Assistant Professor – Early career faculty with appropriate post‑graduate training.
- Associate Professor – Mid level career faculty with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
- Professor – Senior level career faculty with at least five years at rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
- Compliance with SACSCOC requirements, evidence of teaching ability, scholarly activity, successful experience (waived for new – faculty), and desirable personal qualities judged on interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
This position is fiscal year based and works year‑round. The intended work commitment or full‑time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full‑time.
- Assistant Professor – Salary and compensation commensurate with education, experience and achievements; subject to availability of funds.
- Associate Professor – Salary and compensation commensurate with education, experience and achievements; subject to availability of funds.
- Professor – Salary and compensation commensurate with education, experience and achievements; subject to availability of funds.

Rank and salary are determined at the time of hire and are based on various factors including experience, education, credentials, specialty, training, and internal equity and market data.
