Recreation Assistant – Job Overview

This position is located at Tactical Advantage Sportsman's Complex (Position may also be selected for other locations within the Recreation Division). Hours of operation will be identified upon interview with the hiring official.

• In a patron usage facility, circulate among patrons to assure service is satisfactory; receives and resolves customer complaints; provides information and general instructions on the use of equipment, facilitates and machinery.
• Assist patrons by checking out equipment, providing safety instructions, demonstrating new equipment, teaching classes, etc.
• Plan, conduct, publicize and arrange support for special events, social activities, tournaments and related functions.
• Lead the work of other employees, pass on instructions received from the supervisor and start work; distribute and balance workload to keep each employee busy.
• Answer questions of other employees on procedures, policies, and directives; provide leadership, guidance, and oversight in program operations; provide on-the-job training to new employees; perform other duties as assigned.

• Direct deposit and Social Security card required.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one‑year probationary period may be required.
• Complete employment verification (E‑Verify) and all pre‑employment checks.
• May require Tier 1 background investigation for Common Access Card.

• Position, duty hours, location, and/or activity are subject to change based on mission requirements.

• This is a pay‑banded position.
• Sunday premium pay may be authorized at 25 % of the basic rate for up to 8 hours per Sunday.
• Night differential may be authorized at 10 % of the basic rate for hours between 1800‑0600.
• No incentives, bonuses, or foreign overseas allowances/differentials.
