The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University provides dental education to the next generation of professionals by offering hands‑on education through innovative research, patient care, and service. Join other dental providers to improve the oral health of Georgia and beyond. The DCG was founded to provide the people of Georgia with quality dental care by educating students in dentistry. As a patient, you have the option to receive treatment in one of our three different practice models consisting of student clinics, resident care, or in the faculty practice.

All dental treatments can be completed by the specialists in our facility. We also serve patients in more than 20 clinics across Georgia.

Job Summary

This position is critical course support for the Department of Restorative Sciences. Close interaction with faculty, admin, and students occurs on a daily basis to support a quality learning environment. The position is responsible for the development, organization, and maintenance of course documentation, assessments, and schedules, under the guidance of department faculty.

Responsibilities
  • Administrative support: Provide primary support for Year 1–3 students and DCG CPR courses, and limited support for other Restorative Sciences courses. Tasks include inputting quiz/exam questions, creating quizzes/assessments, grading, generating grade reports using Exam Soft and Desire to Learn (D2L), maintaining student grade sheets in Excel, formatting course content, setting up D2L course outlines and grade books, posting course materials, and preparing faculty peer evaluations.
  • Liaison and scheduling: Act as a liaison between faculty and students regarding academic activities, schedule appointments and course meetings, reserve rooms and arrange catering, coordinate with the Testing and Disabilities Center for exam accommodations, assist with remediation courses, and handle confidential student information.
  • Receptionist tasks: Answer phone calls professionally, maintain customer service, redirect calls, perform general office duties (photocopying, scanning, faxing, mailing, filing), and maintain the department outlook calendar.
  • Clinics and other departments support: Coordinate with dispensary and clinics to ensure forms and supplies are available, work with other departments on scheduling and support tasks, update job knowledge through educational opportunities, serve as a point of contact, and maintain course files per AU'BOR policy.
  • Financial/budget duties: Track financial and budgetary information, monitor expenses, reconcile data entry, coordinate with the Chair on fiscal matters, manage research and travel funds, prepare expense reports, process reimbursements, and perform monthly account reconciliations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accrediting organization.
  • Minimum of one year of office support experience.

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university or three years of progressive office administration experience.
