Warehouse Operations OverviewOperations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. It includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management, as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. Warehouse Operations performs and controls a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. Its responsibilities include receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, and ensuring the efficient flow of products from vendors to customers.
Job SummaryThe Assoc II, Warehouse Ops assists in inbound or outbound activities as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor, meeting quality, safety, productivity and operational standards. This position is in the Inventory Department. The primary function is decanting full cases into bins. The associate will also help with other inventory functions when needed.
Qualifications- No experience necessary.
- High school degree or GED preferred.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift, and stand for entire shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in ambient and refrigerated environments.
- Remove product from cases down to the picking unit of measure in prime picking aisle.
- Ensure main picking area is clean of debris and empty boxes disposed of properly.
- Perform quality checks of bins and product to remove potentially damaged items.
- Assist in other functions within inventory and other departments.
- Apply acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks.
- Readily learn and apply new information and methods to work in assigned area.
- Maintain appropriate licenses, training, and certifications.
- Work on routine assignments that require some problem resolution.
- Operate within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods.
- Adhere to all quality guidelines.
- Work under moderate supervision.
- Work typically involves regular review of output by work lead or supervisor.
- Refer complex/unusual problems to supervisor.
- Maintain high focus on quality.
