AboutThe Role
The primary function of the Parcel Receiving – Warehouse Associate position is to process parcel receiving packages and assist warehouse operations. The role may also interact with customers and vendors.
What You’ll Do- Log parcel receiving packages
- Label freight with bar codes and lot tickets
- Research final destinations and note damages
- Assist in unloading parcel trucks and separate contents
- Consistently follow all safety procedures and attend safety meetings
- Load and unload vehicles such as trucks, vans, flatbed trucks, box trucks or tractor‑trailers
- Mark incoming freight appropriately and move freight around yard and warehouse using a forklift or other moving equipment
- Complete appropriate paperwork accurately
- Assist customers as necessary
- Warehouse cleanup
- Attend training and meetings as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
- Good verbal communication and customer service skills (in English)
- Ability to read and write English to complete paperwork
- Good judgment and ability to focus in a hectic environment to minimize errors
- Conscientious awareness of safety procedures and issues
- Ability to use telephone and computer
- Knowledge of good lifting techniques
- Ability to block and brace loads on a flatbed truck
- High school education is required
- Minimum of three months of experience required, most training obtained on the job
- Equivalent combination of education and experience that provides necessary qualifications to perform duties of the position
- Hazardous Material Certification
- Forklift Certification
- Push or pull heavy loads up to 200 pounds
- Lifting and carrying up to 70 pounds
- Operate equipment in a warehouse including a computer, potentially involving repetitive motions of hands and feet
- Warehouse or outdoor environments; exposure to exhaust fumes
- Mandatory overtime when needed
- Exposure to environmental noise
