Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the planning, estimating and procurement departments with the product realization process to include identification of risk assessment, configuration management and key characteristics.
  • Verify and approve Orion generated drawings and mylars using customer supplied digital data.
  • Perform First Article Inspection in accordance with AS9102 standard as required.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in designing standards, procedures and work instructions that meet regulatory and customer driven requirements.
  • Apply disposition of nonconforming material; using industry experience, provide solution driven approach to prevent reoccurrence of nonconformances.
  • Monitor internal audits, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Ensure that procedures and work instructions are followed and Quality Management system is adhered to.
  • Train, mentor and assist less experienced inspection staff in skills, abilities and knowledge related to quality requirements.
  • Establish priorities and actions with peers, department heads and other interested parties.
  • Investigates and coordinates resolution to customer rejections and complaints.
  • Support continuous improvements, nonconformances and corrective action processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements Qualifications
  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience, and/or training or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with ISO 9000 / AS 9100, FAA regulations, part inspections and conformities, the proper use of inspection equipment, corrective / preventive actions, root cause analysis, internal auditing, and vendor quality surveillance preferred.

  • Time management - ability to complete tasks/projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
